A Nigerian woman has publicly criticized the fitness brand I-Fitness, accusing it of deceptive practices after she was required to pay ₦59,000 in order to activate a 30-day gym plan she claimed to have won for free.
In a detailed video she shared on TikTok, the woman recounted her experience participating in a promotional event organized by I-Fitness prior to the grand opening of their new branch in Auchi.
Woman fumes after I-Fitness demands ₦59k to activate free gym plan.
During the promotional event, she explained, she engaged in a game and was announced as the winner of a complimentary 30-day gym membership package.
However, when she attempted to activate her package at the gym, she was confronted with unexpected charges totaling ₦59,000. This included a ₦20,000 membership activation fee and an additional ₦38,000 monthly gym fee for a standard package without access to a personal trainer.
Expressing her frustration, she questioned the fairness of having to pay ₦59,000 for what was originally advertised as a free plan. She described the experience as misleading and unfair to customers.
The video quickly gained traction online, sparking diverse opinions and discussions from social media users about the legitimacy and transparency of I-Fitness’s promotional offers and business practices.

Foma: “They should have stated when you won the complementary 30 days that there are terms and conditions to access it. It should have just been communicated better on the day you won instead of waiting till the day you got there. I don’t think this makes them a scam bra.”
🥷Lordsavage2022♏️🇳🇬🇧🇯: “You can just pay for the entrance fee not for personal trainer the person trainer is optional not must.”

SLICE OF NAIJA SPICE: “It should have been on your own benefits because when you pay that amount you have two months extra Anyway welcome to I-fitness.”
