Nigerian woman Adaeze Gift Okolie has shared a heartfelt perspective on marriage, asserting that 80% of men who are closely attached to their mothers, often referred to as “mummy boys,” grow up to become good and loving husbands.
Taking to her Facebook page on Saturday, Okolie drew from her personal life experience to buttress her point. She explained that her husband, who is deeply connected to his mother, has consistently shown her immense love, respect, and kindness, even during her most vulnerable moments as a woman and a mother.
“Some men who love their mom dearly hardly disrespect their women. For the years I have lived with my husband, he has never told me words that pierced my heart,” she lovingly shared, reflecting on the gentle and considerate nature of her spouse.
Okolie went on to commend her husband’s compassion, particularly towards her postpartum body changes after childbirth. She proudly highlighted that he never body shamed her or made her feel less beautiful because of the physical changes she experienced.
“When I complain about baby fat and stretch marks, he will always say, ‘Mummy, that’s what makes you a real woman.’ He is very good in this aspect,” she added, emphasizing his consistent emotional support and reassurance.
Further recounting her husband’s background, Okolie mentioned that although he is regarded by his family as the stubborn child, his deep affection and reverence for his mother have shaped the way he treats his wife with so much care and admiration.
