A man, whose wife tragically passed away shortly after delivering their twins, has sparked outrage online after selling donated baby supplies worth over ₦5 million for just ₦1.2 million — a move many believe indirectly contributed to the untimely death of the twins, as he allegedly failed to purchase a life-saving medicine worth only ₦10,000.
This heartbreaking revelation came to light through a viral video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) by user @TheBeninBlogger. In the video, a woman — widely recognized as the compassionate figure who rallied support for the family — emotionally explained how she mobilized her followers to help the grieving father after the devastating loss of his wife.
Following the mother’s death, concerned fans and well-wishers contributed generously, providing baby food, clothes, wipes, diapers, shoes, and many other essentials. These items, valued at over ₦5 million, were carefully stored in a dedicated shop, intended solely for the wellbeing and upkeep of the newborn twins.
However, according to the woman in the video, the man shockingly sold all the donated supplies to a woman in Benin for just ₦1.2 million. This act of betrayal left many supporters heartbroken and questioning the man’s motives and integrity.
“This morning, we got a call from the Ministry of Justice. Baba Twins wants to go to the bank to withdraw ₦500,000 from the children’s account,” she tearfully narrated. “All the baby food, the wipes, the pampers, the clothes, the shoes — everything that fans donated, Papa Twins sold everything to a woman in Benin. Everything in that shop was worth over ₦5 million. He sold it all for ₦1.2 million.”
The woman further revealed that the Ministry of Justice had reached out to her because the man had attempted to withdraw money meant for the welfare of the children, raising further concerns about his intentions and capacity to care for them responsibly.
