A Nigerian lady has expressed her frustration with the house-hunting experience in Lagos after being shown a substandard apartment despite having a ₦500,000 budget.

The lady, identified on TikTok as @sheinbyshugahh1, shared a video revealing the condition of the apartment she was taken to by a Lagos-based house agent. She lamented how the environment was far from what she expected and jokingly questioned the reality of Lagos as a functioning place.

According to her, the house shown resembled a structure found in a slum, with unfinished construction, exposed block walls, and poor finishing. She noted that, with her ₦500,000 budget, she anticipated something more befitting and not a dilapidated structure.

She further pointed out potential plumbing issues around the house and feared the possibility of poor sewage management and water supply problems. Her disappointment was clear in the tone of her voice throughout the video as she narrated the inspection experience.
The video quickly gained attention online, sparking various reactions from social media users, many of whom empathized with her while others offered alternative locations where ₦500K could fetch a better apartment.
