A Nigerian herbs seller has advised JAMB candidates who wish to study medicine but scored poorly in the recent UTME exam to apply for her herbs course, which is currently open for admission. The herbs seller encouraged candidates who may feel discouraged by their low UTME scores to consider an alternative path in the herbal field, emphasizing that it is a viable career choice.
In a video shared on her TikTok page, she explained that while many may not be able to pursue their desired courses like medicine or pharmacy due to low scores, they can still apply for her herbs course, which focuses on teaching about the use of herbs for various medicinal purposes. She reassured viewers that pursuing a career in herbs is just as important and fulfilling, especially for those who have an interest in natural remedies.
She shared her personal experience, stating: “Admission is ongoing for those who failed JAMB. If you can’t study medicine, you can study herbs. When I wrote JAMB, I scored 75, and that’s why I decided to go into herbs.” She emphasized that despite not achieving a high enough score for medicine, her choice to pursue herbs led to a rewarding career, and she encouraged others to take a similar path if they find themselves in the same situation.
