A surprising moment at a recent wedding ceremony has sparked massive conversation online after a female guest arrived wearing what appeared to be a full white wedding gown, similar in style to that of the bride.
The incident was captured in a video shared by popular TikTok user @esther___collection. In the now-viral clip, the female guest is first seen sitting calmly among the wedding attendees, fully dressed in white. Later in the video, she is spotted standing beside the bride, both women wearing elegant white gowns — a move many saw as inappropriate and attention-seeking.
While the bride wore a classic, long-sleeved wedding dress designed for her big day, the guest’s attire bore a striking resemblance to a bridal gown as well, leading many viewers to believe it was intentionally done to upstage or distract from the bride.
The video was captioned: “Imagine at your wedding day a guest come with a wedding gown as well.” The statement echoed the confusion and disbelief shared by many viewers who questioned why the guest would choose such an outfit for someone else’s big day.
Unsurprisingly, the video drew thousands of comments and reactions across social media, with most users condemning the guest’s decision.
One user, Lerato Mathe, commented, “😭😭🤣 you allowed her. I wouldn’t even see her because my mom and siblings would do their job and chase her.”
🆂🅰🅼🅰🅽🆃🅷🅰 added humorously, “I’m sure they’re twins. Twins must both wear wedding dresses when one of them is getting married.”
Responding to that theory, Gloria Pele clarified, “They not twins. We don’t know who that girl is and even her closest friends, us and her sister, didn’t wear white. We kept to the theme. That girl wanted attention.”
Another user, Wivine 🌸🌸, wrote: “Y’all couldn’t chase her?? 😂😂😂 I would’ve understood if it was an evening dress that the bride was wearing and she wore the same one, but this is legit a wedding gown 😂😂😂 mungemu fukuza.”
The video has continued to circulate widely online as viewers debate the guest’s outfit and the proper etiquette for attending a wedding. Many have expressed that regardless of intent, showing up in white — let alone a full-length gown — is unacceptable.
