A Nigerian corps member has caught the attention of many online after creatively adjusting his footwear at the NYSC orientation camp to accommodate his unusually large feet.
In a video shared on TikTok by user @nowejeh, he revealed that the standard-issue white tennis shoes provided at the camp could not fit him properly, even though they were the largest size available. Faced with discomfort, the corps member decided to come up with a practical solution on his own.
To allow his feet to “breathe” and reduce the tightness, he removed the front part of the shoes, exposing his toes. The result was a modified version of the footwear that looked like a reversed half shoe — closed at the back, open at the front. The alteration sparked laughter and admiration online for his ingenuity and ability to make the best out of a challenging situation.
The corps member’s clip quickly went viral as people commented on his footwear transformation and his hilarious but relatable struggle. Some even shared similar experiences from their time in camp, while others praised his confidence for wearing the shoes proudly despite the unconventional design.
