Nyesom Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has confidently predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will emerge victorious in the 2027 presidential election.

When asked whether he would contest for the presidency if the ticket was zoned to the South, Wike gave a firm and straightforward response. He stated he would not run for the presidency, especially against his current principal, President Tinubu, whom he serves under as a cabinet member.
“I no go contest again. Why I go contest against somebody wey I dey work with?” he said in Pidgin English, implying loyalty and respect for his current role in the administration.
The journalist followed up by asking if this statement meant he fully supported Tinubu’s re-election. In response, Wike replied, “Na who go win am?” suggesting that he believes no candidate could rival Tinubu’s political strength and influence in the 2027 election.
