Omoyele Sowore, the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has strongly rejected the idea of forming any alliance or working relationship with politicians from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition. Sowore made his position clear during an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Wednesday, where he openly criticized many members of the coalition, accusing them of lacking moral character, integrity, and the genuine commitment needed to rebuild Nigeria.

During the interview, Sowore emphasized that he cannot and will not align with certain individuals in the coalition, pointing out their questionable past actions, corrupt practices, and betrayal of public trust as reasons for his firm stance. He explained that many of these politicians have repeatedly disappointed Nigerians through their dishonesty, selfishness, and unethical conduct.

“There are just too many people in that coalition I can’t even sit across the table from,” Sowore stated emphatically. “I cannot ignore those things. I can’t ignore so many of the people in coalition who have done Nigerians dirty; who have done what is regarded as evil. People who we know have no conscience, no character, no pedigree. It would be an insult to the Nigerian people to pretend otherwise.”

He went further to accuse these politicians of deliberately exploiting the suffering of ordinary Nigerians for personal gain, adding that their actions over the years have contributed significantly to the country’s economic and social decline. According to Sowore, working with such individuals would mean compromising his lifelong principles and betraying the trust of his supporters and the Nigerian masses.

“There is no amount of conditions you can give them that will make them wash their ways, or change the way they have behaved in the past. These are typically people whose way of life is rooted in evil, corruption, selfishness, and shortchanging the public. There is no condition that can make them change their ways,” he reiterated strongly.

Sowore also highlighted that his approach to politics is driven by a sincere commitment to justice, transparency, and the genuine transformation of Nigeria’s governance system. He stressed that any political collaboration he considers must be firmly anchored on a shared vision to rescue Nigeria from the grip of corrupt and failed leaders, including both current office holders and those seeking to regain power through opportunistic coalitions and backdoor arrangements.

In conclusion, Sowore called on Nigerians to remain vigilant and not to fall for deceptive coalitions formed by politicians with questionable records. He urged citizens to focus on leaders who have consistently demonstrated integrity and a true passion for the welfare of the people, rather than those using alliances as a strategy to return to power and continue the cycle of poor governance.
