Aghahowa Collins, a close aide to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, has stirred controversy online after issuing a stern warning regarding the upcoming 2027 elections. In a strongly worded video statement, Collins declared that only the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be permitted to mount or display campaign banners and posters anywhere within Edo State as the election approaches.
Collins insisted that Edo is firmly an APC-controlled state and emphasized that all forms of political promotion, publicity, and campaign activities must strictly represent and support the ruling party. He warned that any individual or group who dares to promote another political party or attempts to put up posters for opposition candidates will face severe consequences and “learn a lesson” for challenging the authority of the APC in the state.

Collins openly stated that in 2027, any banner or poster found in Edo State that does not belong to the APC will be targeted for removal, and those responsible will be dealt with decisively. He claimed that such actions are necessary to solidify and reaffirm APC’s stronghold on the state’s political landscape.
He partly said …
“In 2027, if we see any other political party’s banner or poster that is not APC, the person on it and the person who posted it will learn a new lesson. Edo is APC state and everything has to be APC….”
