The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Olushola Oladoja, has opened up about a traumatic experience he had with Seyi Tinubu, which he claims resulted from his refusal to accept a ₦100 million bribe.
At a recent press briefing, Olushola Oladoja detailed the incident, explaining that he had been invited to Lagos, where he met with Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youth. He revealed that this meeting took a dark turn after he rejected the substantial bribe offer.
According to Olushola, he was subsequently abducted and physically assaulted after declining the bribe. He claimed that his captors forced him into a highly distressing situation, where he was coerced into announcing his resignation as the NANS President in exchange for his release.
Olushola further elaborated on the ordeal, stating that in collaboration with the Managing Director of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), he was forced to appear on NTA to make a statement renouncing his position as NANS President, a move he described as completely against his will. “I was stripped naked, beaten seriously, and in collaboration with the MD of NTA, I was packaged to NTA to make a voluntary statement that I’ve renounced my position as NANS President,” he explained.
The NANS President also accused Seyi Tinubu of making a chilling statement during the ordeal, claiming that even if Olushola were killed, Seyi Tinubu would order the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to cover up the incident and prevent any legal consequences. Olushola's statement raised serious concerns regarding the abuse of power and influence in the country.
