JAMB registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede breaks down in tears as he apologizes to parents after admitting error on their systems.
It would be recalled that the board had admitted errors after many students had laid complaints about their scores and a thorough investigation was conducted. The investigation revealed a number of technical issues that affected the UTME results of several candidates, causing frustration and disappointment among students and parents alike.

In a recent video that surfaced online, the JAMB registrar tearfully apologized to parents for the errors, expressing deep regret for the distress caused. His emotional apology resonated with many, as he acknowledged the gravity of the situation and the impact it had on the students’ future prospects.
Prof. Oloyede, visibly moved, said, “What should have been a moment of joy has changed due to one or two errors.” His words reflected the frustration of the candidates who had hoped for better outcomes from the exam, only to face unexpected setbacks. He explained that despite the board’s efforts to put all necessary measures in place to ensure smooth operations, unforeseen technical glitches still occurred, leading to the disappointment.
“We set all machineries in order, regardless, there were still errors,” Oloyede admitted. His statement highlighted the challenges that even a well-prepared system can face, as unforeseen circumstances can sometimes undermine the best efforts. The registrar’s apology was a rare moment of vulnerability, demonstrating his awareness of the difficulties faced by students and their families as they navigated the confusion surrounding the UTME results.
