Popular activist, Verydarkman tackles Pastor David Ibiyeomie after he vowed to arrest bloggers making news reports about him and his church.
Earlier, videos and reports had made the rounds, capturing the leader of the Salvation Ministries issuing a stern warning to bloggers and other news writers to desist from writing anything about him. He warned that legal and police action would be taken against those who continue to post or write defamatory content related to him or his church. The video drew widespread attention and stirred a wave of heated online discussions.
Reacting to the viral clip, Verydarkman took to his social media platform to criticize the pastor for allegedly trying to use law enforcement as a means of oppression. He accused the pastor of attempting to silence critics and bloggers who merely exercise their right to express their opinions.
The activist firmly challenged Pastor Ibiyeomie’s threats, stating that freedom of speech cannot be suppressed in a democratic society. He pointed out that attempting to arrest people over harmless or factual commentary was a display of abuse of power and a misuse of influence. Verydarkman described such behavior as part of the larger problem of elitism and religious leaders acting above the law.

“I know you travel around the world, have you seen anybody using police to lock up people? That means you are using your influence now to say that you can use the police to oppress. You can’t try this in other countries because those police would do their investigations. You cannot command police to do anything whether you are influential or not. That is why I say even the pastors follow spoil the country, but people don’t understand what I was saying. Nobody dey fear you. Who are you that we will fear, are you not a human being?”
