Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has stirred conversations on social media following his recent revelation about an unexpected encounter with Labour Party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
In a trending video posted online, the Zazoo Zeh hitmaker narrated how he came across the former Anambra State governor during a commercial flight. Portable disclosed that while he was seated comfortably in the first-class section, Peter Obi was spotted in the economy cabin of the same flight. The incident, according to him, left a strong impression due to the nature of their brief interaction.
Portable explained that despite his excitement to meet a prominent politician like Peter Obi, the encounter ended with only a simple handshake. The singer expressed clear disappointment, stating that he had expected more than just a formal greeting. He further claimed that if it were another political figure—specifically President Bola Ahmed Tinubu—he would likely have received cash gifts instead of just a handshake.
“The day I saw Peter Obi, make I no lie, it was just a handshake I got. I was in first class, Peter Obi was in economy. I greeted him, and he only gave me a handshake. If it was Tinubu, I would’ve collected bundles,” Portable stated in the video.
The comment has since gone viral, drawing a wave of mixed reactions from Nigerians on various platforms.
