Pastor Paul Adefarasin has broken his silence regarding a viral video that allegedly showed him holding a firearm while seated in his vehicle in traffic, sparking widespread speculation and backlash online.
The incident, which was shared widely across social media, suggested that the prominent clergyman had pulled out a gun at a content creator who had approached his Range Rover while recording during a traffic stop. The claims quickly gained traction, leading to criticism and curiosity from the public.
During his Sunday church service, Pastor Adefarasin addressed the incident for the first time, making it clear that he does not own a gun and is not licensed to carry any firearm. He dismissed the viral clip as a deliberate attempt to exploit his public image for financial gain by online creators.
“The enticement of the enemy is always the love of money. It is an organized strategy to make money through clickbait. They’re content creators just looking for more money. I was falsely accused and I’m hurt,” the cleric said in a somber tone as he addressed his congregation.
He explained that the video was manipulated to paint a false narrative and emphasized that the entire controversy was manufactured to attract views and monetize outrage.
Despite the pastor’s statement, several online users were not satisfied with the explanation and demanded further clarification about the object he was seen holding in the viral video.
@pridecrib commented: “What was he holding? He didn’t tell us.”
@youfoundmarvel added: “Funny how he still didn’t mention what he was holding.”
@ajepakobutty expressed skepticism: “1. ‘Came within PERSONAL distance’ means you saw him as a threat that justified your actions but you cannot admit you reacted to it. 2. Unless whatever you were holding was an AI generated image, you should have brought it along to show everyone proof for defense sake.”
@TheRealGulu pointed out: “The pastor may not have wielded a firearm, but he drove a car without plates and clearly showed anger towards the videographer. Pastor couldn’t show self-control over a common video? So what does he preach to his congregation about anger? Abi that one no dey Christ like life?”
@Munachi35 concluded: “If a pastor can deny this in the church, he lacks the audacity to judge the devil.”
The video clip in question, which has now been viewed thousands of times, continues to generate debate as viewers analyze the frame-by-frame footage to determine whether a weapon was actually involved. Meanwhile, Pastor Adefarasin has urged the public to refrain from jumping to conclusions and focus on truth over sensationalism.
