The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has officially summoned Nigerian singer Darlington Okoye, widely recognized by his stage name Speed Darlington, to appear before the agency at its national headquarters located in Abuja.
According to the letter issued by the agency, Speed Darlington is expected to report in person without fail on Friday, May 30, 2025, by 9 a.m. for questioning and further clarification regarding recent allegations made against him.

This summons follows a disturbing incident during a viral Instagram Live video in which Speed Darlington allegedly confessed to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. The video triggered widespread outrage and immediate attention from both the public and law enforcement authorities.
NAPTIP stated that the remarks made during the live broadcast are highly alarming and necessitate a thorough investigation to determine the facts and the legal implications surrounding the situation.
In an official letter dated May 28, 2025, the agency explained that if the allegations are substantiated, the singer's actions could amount to a serious violation of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition), Enforcement and Administration Act of 2015, a federal law established to combat and punish all forms of human trafficking and exploitation in Nigeria.
Furthermore, the case could also involve breaches of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act of 2015, particularly regarding the use of online platforms to promote or admit to criminal behavior, especially involving minors.
