During an in-depth interview with social media activist Vincent Otse Martins, widely known as VeryDarkMan, Mr Aloba recounted minute-by-minute details of the events that transpired on September 12, the tragic day Mohbad passed away. His revelations were both shocking and heartbreaking, offering fresh insight into the singer’s final moments and the aftermath that followed.

According to Mr Aloba, the day began with a disturbing call from Mohbad’s mother around 4:30 p.m., informing him that their son had suddenly fallen ill and was admitted to a hospital. Concerned, he immediately arranged to meet her so they could rush to the hospital together to check on Mohbad's condition.

Upon arriving at the hospital in Osapa London, he was met by Mohbad’s uncle, Darosha, who assured him that Mohbad was already feeling better and urged him not to worry too much. Surprisingly, he was advised to return home by 7:00 p.m., a suggestion that made Mr Aloba extremely uneasy and suspicious of the true state of his son’s health.

“On the 12th of September, Iya Mohbad called me around 4:30 pm to tell me that my son is not well and is being hospitalized… When we got to Osapa London, Darosha Iya told me that my son is getting better now and I can go home around 7:00 pm,” he said.

However, his instincts told him otherwise. Mr Aloba explained that the sudden shift in narrative—moving from frantic calls of concern to abrupt reassurances—made him suspect that his son might have already passed away at that point.

“I was already sensing my son was dead. Because of how they kept calling me that my son is not well and all of a sudden they said he was fine,” he explained, revealing the mental torment he experienced in those moments.

His suspicions turned into painful reality when he decided to accompany family members to Mohbad’s residence. There, he found a crowd gathered at the entrance and initially faced resistance from those who did not want him to go inside. After finally managing to enter the house and make his way upstairs to the room where he and his son usually shared private father-son talks, he was met with a heartbreaking sight: a duvet soaked in blood.

“I went upstairs because that is where I and Mohbad usually met. I noticed that the duvet was soaked in blood,” he said, describing one of the most traumatic moments of his life.

Mr Aloba further revealed disturbing details regarding how the authorities handled the situation after his son’s death. He recounted how he was denied a police report on the grounds that the death had not been reported on time, despite his attempts to cooperate fully with the authorities.

“We went to the police station. When I was giving my statement, someone came out and said they should not give me the police report because I did not report his death on time,” he lamented.

Adding to the controversy, he accused Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, of withholding the doctor’s report and not being transparent about critical details. Even more shocking was his revelation that Mohbad’s body was embalmed at home without his approval and that the morgue had initially refused to accept the body that same night.

These new allegations have sparked fresh debates online, with many Nigerians demanding answers and calling for a thorough, unbiased investigation to ensure that justice is served for the late artist.
