Dominica Chinwe, a close friend of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has made shocking claims against Wunmi, the widow of the artist. She accused Wunmi of masterminding a smear campaign that almost destroyed her entire life and left her emotionally traumatized.
In a recent interview with popular commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM), Dominica disclosed that she suffered from depression and emotional turmoil for over two years as a result of Wunmi’s alleged manipulative actions, which included orchestrating false accusations, spreading lies, and inciting physical attacks against her.
According to Dominica, her rift with Wunmi started shortly after the controversial NDLEA raid involving Mohbad, during which she revealed that the singer was manhandled by officers. She claimed Wunmi pressured her to fabricate a story to deceive Naira Marley.
“Wunmi told me to tell Naira Marley that I saw NDLEA officials give Mohbad a substance to drink, but I refused because it was a lie. When Naira Marley called me directly, I told him the whole truth — that nothing like that happened,” Dominica revealed during the emotional interview.
Dominica recounted that while in custody, Mohbad only asked for water and drank from a bottle placed on a table, which she later finished herself. She emphasized that there was no poisoning, and she was surprised when Wunmi tried to twist the story to implicate others.
She further alleged that after she refused to lie, Wunmi stormed into her house, shouting and accusing her of betrayal. Things escalated when Wunmi later accused her of being the anonymous gossip blogger Gistlover and of leaking sensitive information to blogs like NaijaEverything. Dominica said this false accusation spread rapidly, ruining her reputation and affecting her mental health deeply.
Dominica added that a rumor even emerged that she was romantically involved with Mohbad and was pregnant for him — an allegation she vehemently denied. According to her, Wunmi encouraged her to use the rumor for publicity, but she chose to clarify and get the false post deleted instead.
She shared that Wunmi went further by telling their mutual friends and her housemates that she was leaking secrets about influencer Papaya to Gistlover. This resulted in a violent confrontation where Papaya and another man attacked her physically while others stood by and mocked her. They recorded the attack, forcing her to falsely confess to something she didn’t do.
Dominica described the experience as humiliating and traumatic, emphasizing that she felt betrayed by someone she once called a close friend and had introduced to her inner circle. She claimed that Wunmi’s manipulations destroyed her trust and nearly ruined her life completely.
