Basketmouth revealed that he had made a conscious decision to leave the comedy scene after five years. He said, "For the past six years, I have just been floating. Last year I told myself and my team, you know what, I am going back to comedy. I want to do five years and I am quitting. I am quitting in 5 years." He added that he would still crack jokes but it wouldn't be a professional thing. If he performs at any gig, it would be for charity, but he would not charge anyone to perform again.

The comedian further disclosed that he had made enough money and had committed himself enough to the art to take a break or quit. He revealed that he was now into movies, series, and concert production, stating that he wants to experience something new and be remembered for something other than comedy.

Basketmouth's upcoming show, "Basketmouth Unprovoked," is scheduled to take place on April 8 at the Accra International Conference Centre in Ghana.
