Media personality, Daddy Freeze, has addressed the recent apology issued by legendary Nigerian singer 2Baba Idibia following his controversial comments. In a recent statement, 2Baba had admitted that it is difficult for a man to remain intimate with just one woman throughout his life, sparking debates across social media. However, after facing significant backlash, he later retracted the statement and offered a public apology, especially to his wife Annie Macaulay, and fans.
During a live broadcast, Daddy Freeze expressed deep concern over 2Baba’s well-being and the influences around him. He revealed that he had received several complaints from close circles about the singer’s current state of mind and management issues. Freeze recounted a particular incident where he, along with some close associates and members of 2Baba's family, had to wait for six hours to have an important discussion with the artist, only for 2Baba to not show up eventually. This, according to him, was quite troubling and pointed towards deeper issues that need to be addressed urgently.
He further expressed that there might be certain people deliberately trying to derail any chances of 2Baba reclaiming his legendary status in the Nigerian music industry. Daddy Freeze went on to say, "It seems to me there are people who are intentionally trying to detail any possibility of 2Baba going back to his legend status. I don’t know what has turned him into the but this is not the innocent Idibia that I know." These words suggest that he believes 2Baba is being manipulated or mismanaged in ways that are detrimental to his career and personal life.
Additionally, Daddy Freeze mentioned that 2Baba’s elder brother, who is based in the United States, had come down to Nigeria allegedly to take control of the singer’s management affairs, a move that Daddy Freeze strongly opposed. He noted that such interference might be causing more harm than good to 2Baba’s image and mental health.
To support his claims, Daddy Freeze shared that he had a lengthy one-hour telephone conversation with veteran Nigerian artist Olu Maintain. During that discussion, they reportedly uncovered sensitive details regarding the ongoing situation, though Daddy Freeze insisted that some of these revelations were too private to be shared publicly at this time.
Despite the worrying developments, Daddy Freeze concluded his statement by emphasizing the importance of spiritual support in 2Baba’s current situation. He urged fans and loved ones to pray for the artist, stating, "Only prayer can solve 2Baba’s matter as it stands now. After this, I don’t know what to say again." This underscores his belief that beyond managerial and personal interventions, divine help is crucial for 2Baba to find peace and stability.
